The chair that hugs

Protac SenSit® is a sensory chair that combines comfortable, enveloping seating with deep and dynamic pressure, tactile stimulation and proprioceptive input.

Its four ball-filled wings can be positioned alongside or around the body and over the legs and torso. This makes it possible to adapt both the sitting position and the degree of sensory input, from relatively open support to a much more closely enveloping sensation.

Pressure and movement that help the body feel its boundaries

The movement and pressure of the EVA balls stimulate the tactile and proprioceptive senses. This sensory input can support body awareness and contribute to a sense of security, physical and mental calm and concentration.

The chair combines different fillings with complementary functions:

• EVA balls in the back and upper part of the seat provide dynamic tactile and proprioceptive input.
• The four wings are also ball-filled and can be positioned according to individual preferences.
• Polypropylene granulate in the lower part of the seat makes the chair mouldable and helps it adapt around the user's body.

A recess can be formed in the back of the seat before sitting down to create a comfortable and supportive position.

Choose according to the user's height

SenSit® is available in two sizes. Choosing between them is straightforward and depends on the user's height:

• User height ≤ 180 cm — back height 78 cm.
• User height > 180 cm — high-back version with an 85 cm backrest.

The higher backrest provides more appropriate support for taller users while maintaining the same sensory principle and four enveloping wings.

Five colours

Both sizes are available in the same five colours:

• Off White
• Aqua
• Lime
• Dusty Green
• Dark Grey

This gives a total of ten size and colour combinations.

Complete the chair with the SenSit® Puff

For greater comfort and a more complete sensory experience, the chair can be combined with the SenSit® Puff, an optional matching footrest available in the same colours.

The footrest is approximately 40 cm high and contains EVA balls in its upper layer and mouldable granulate underneath. It allows the user to elevate the legs while adding further tactile and proprioceptive input.

The manufacturer recommends using the SenSit® Puff together with the chair for optimal sitting comfort.

It can also be used independently as a small sensory seat, making it particularly useful for a therapist, teacher or caregiver who wants to sit close to the SenSit® user and at a similar eye level.

SenSit® can provide a defined and comfortable place where the person can seek sensory input, containment and calm while remaining part of their everyday environment.

Children and adults

The manufacturer describes SenSit® for children and adults and for people with ADHD, autism, psychiatric conditions, dementia, acquired brain injury, spasticity and developmental disabilities.

The chair is also used as a sensory integration resource. Its different possible configurations make it possible to adapt the degree of body contact and sensory stimulation to the individual person.

Cleaning and maintenance

The chair can be dismantled for cleaning.

The outer cover can be washed at 60 °C in a washing machine with a minimum capacity of 7 kg. The seat cover with internal incontinence protection can be removed and washed separately.

Washable ball bags must be washed according to the manufacturer's instructions. Some internal bags cannot be washed, so always follow the care labels supplied with the product.

Do not use stain remover or detergents containing bleach or perfume.

For routine cleaning, the chair can be wiped with a damp cloth or suitable disinfectant wipes.

With use, the granulate may settle and form a depression in the seat. Turn the chair upside down occasionally and shake it gently to redistribute the filling and restore its shape.
