Dynamic deep pressure with a softer feel

Protac Ball Blanket® Combi combines large movable balls with soft polypropylene granulate to provide deep, dynamic tactile and proprioceptive stimulation while cushioning the direct sensation of the balls against the body.

Its 50 mm EVA balls can move within their compartments. As the user moves, the balls change position and points of contact, providing changing deep pressure and clear information to the tactile and muscle-joint senses.

The polypropylene granulate settles between the balls and makes their contact softer. The result is more subdued sensory stimulation than Ball Blanket® Flexible, while retaining the dynamic character produced by large movable balls.

Combi can therefore be particularly interesting for people who benefit from clear proprioceptive input but prefer or require a softer sensory experience.

Two ways to experience the blanket

One side of Combi incorporates a thermal lining.

With the thermal side towards the body, the sensation of the balls becomes milder and softer. Turning the blanket allows the sensory experience to be varied according to the user's sensitivity, preferences and needs.

This makes Combi particularly versatile when the appropriate level of sensory input may vary from one person or situation to another.

Body awareness, calm and sleep

Deep and dynamic touch-pressure stimulates the tactile and proprioceptive senses and provides clear information about the body's position and boundaries.

This sensory input can support:

• multiple sclerosis;
• chronic pain.

The wider Ball Blanket® range is also used with sensory processing difficulties, physical restlessness, ADHD, autism, psychiatric disorders, developmental disabilities and brain injury.

The choice between Combi and the other Ball Blanket® models should be based on the individual sensory profile and the type and intensity of stimulation sought.

Particularly interesting in dementia

Combi can be especially relevant when dementia is accompanied by physical or psychological restlessness and difficulty settling.

The blanket can be introduced progressively, for example initially over the legs while sitting or resting, before using it over a larger part of the body.

The manufacturer reports clinical experience with people with dementia in which Combi has been incorporated into daytime rest, night-time sleep and care routines.

Four removable ball bags

The blanket contains four removable ball bags.

This modular construction makes washing easier and also allows compatible ball bags with other fillings to be purchased when an individually adapted configuration is required.

Trevira CS flame-retardant version

This version uses a 100% Trevira CS flame-retardant cover.

It is therefore particularly suitable for professional and institutional environments where flame-retardant textile materials are required.

Washing and maintenance

The cover and the four ball bags can be washed separately at a maximum of 60 °C.

The ball bags must be removed and washed using the supplied laundry bag.

Use detergent without perfume and do not use fabric softener, stain remover or bleach.

The cover and ball bags can be tumble dried at a maximum of 60 °C or air dried.

Regular airing is recommended.

Important

Do not use without supervision with people who are unable to care for themselves or whose lung capacity is impaired.

Ball Blanket® must never be used as a restraint.

Always observe the user's reaction and whether they are comfortable lying under the blanket.

Keep away from open flames and do not leave operating computers or other heat-producing electrical devices on the blanket.
